Liberty Hive presents
First Flight
Apply to join the founding cohort
First Flight is Liberty Hive's new programme for exceptional 18–23 year olds ready to take their first step into advertising, media, marketing and creative careers.
Entry-level roles in this industry are disappearing — graduate schemes are shrinking and junior jobs are vanishing — so we built our own way in.
First Flight gives you real mentoring from Liberty Hive's recruiters and former senior advertising leaders, a free 2-day workshop at AMV BBDO, and direct introductions to employers who are actively investing in first-time talent. If you've got curiosity, drive and determination — but haven't had the chance to prove it yet — this is your way in.
Applications for the founding cohort of just 30 close 4 September.

What you're applying for
A place in the room, not a place in a database
The 30 founding members don't get a certificate and a handshake. They get the three things that actually move a career forward when you're starting out.
Real mentoring
Support from Liberty Hive's recruiters and former senior advertising leaders — people who've actually done the job you're aiming for, in your corner from day one.
A free 2-day workshop
Hosted at AMV BBDO and curated by James Barnett of 300 Consultancy — practical insight into agency life and the skills employers want today. It won't cost you a penny.
Employer introductions
Direct access to employers actively looking to invest in first-time talent. Not another application black hole — actual introductions to actual people.
“With fewer entry-level roles and more people applying for them, standing out has never been more important. Media is still a people and relationship-led industry, and getting to know people can open doors that another online application simply won't. My advice is to get out there, meet people and take advantage of opportunities like First Flight to get yourself in the room.”
Is this you?
You should apply if...
You're 18–23 and just starting out — graduate, school leaver, or career-curious
You want a career in advertising, media, marketing or creative — but can't find the door in
You don't have years of experience — just curiosity, drive and determination
You're ready to commit to a free 2-day workshop and show up for yourself
Before you start
What the application actually involves
We've kept it deliberately short. Applying shouldn't be the hard part.
It takes about ten minutes
A handful of short questions about you and what you're after. You can do it on your phone, on the bus, tonight.
No CV, no cover letter
We're not scoring you on formatting or work experience you were never given the chance to get. We want to hear how you think.
We read every single one
A person reads your answers — not an algorithm, not a keyword filter. That's rather the whole point of First Flight.
You'll hear back either way
Applications close 4 September and we'll come back to everyone after that, whichever way it goes. No ghosting.
Only 30 founding places.
Applications close 4 September.
You've done the listening. This is the bit that counts — ten minutes now, and you're in the running for one of the 30.

FAQs
Everything you might be wondering
What if I missed the webinar?
No problem — you can catch up on the recording any time, and you don't need to have seen it to apply.
Is it really free?
Yes. The application, the workshop and everything that follows are completely free. There's no catch and no fee at any stage.
What if I don't have any experience?
Then you're exactly who we built this for. We're not asking for internships, placements or a portfolio — we're asking for curiosity, drive and a genuine interest in the industry.
When do applications close?
4 September. There are only 30 founding places, so we'd encourage you not to leave it to the last day.
What happens after I apply?
We read every application after the deadline and come back to everyone. If you're offered one of the founding places, we'll confirm the workshop details and get you set up with your mentor.
Do I need to be based in London?
The 2-day workshop is hosted at AMV BBDO in London, so you'll need to be able to travel there for those two days. Everything else — mentoring, introductions, the community — happens wherever you are.
Still got a question? Email contact@libertyhive.com and we'll come straight back to you.
